Memory: Use It Or Lose It.

Getting older? You might’ve already found out the hard way: you can’t avoid memory loss. But you can delay it! That’s right, you can keep your memory (or even improve it) by training it and keeping it in good shape!

How?

Use visual techniques. Make connections between the thing you have to remember and an image that is easy to remember.
Keep your social contacts up. Don’t alienate yourself!
Do aerobics (or any other sport)! People who get a lot of physical exercise are less likely to get Alzheimer, dementia or mental decline. Every form of exercise helps, but intensive exercise three times a week brings the risk down by 40%.
Drink a lot of water; even mild dehydration can make the brain function less good.
Avoid unhealthy stress. Positive stress, such as putting a lot of effort in something your doing, is good.
Last but not least: adopt Mediterranean eating habits, which are proven to be the healthiest eg. using olive oil and drinking moderate quantities of red wine.
So avoid memory loss by being mentally active: use it or lose it!
